Strange Goings On

Now, I realize that this blog is supposed to be about SolidWorks and its associated hardware and software, but I feel the need to vent a little bit.

I’ve recently begun receiving emails from someone who shall remain anonymous. These emails are, essentially, bulk emails as I’ve been added to this person’s ‘press release’ group. I didn’t ask to be added, nor do I know how they got my work email address. While it falls short of being an invasion of privacy, it is really annoying. Why you might ask? Because the person in question has, from what I’ve heard, a low opinion of bloggers. Having actually met this individual, I don’t think too highly of them on a personal level. Professionally, they are well respected in their community and very knowledgeable. Why they feel the need to include me on their press release without asking is beyond me. Frankly, I have yet to see anything in these "press releases" that interests me. They don’t pertain to my passion (that being SolidWorks).

Here are my questions to you, my loyal reader, do I continue to accept these "press releases", or do I email the individual and ask to be removed? How would you feel if in my position? Am I needlessly whining?

Don’t be afraid to be honest, I can handle it.

    Jeff,
    Your post made me smile.
My opinion on the matter is you should e-mail this individual, politely ask him to take you off his list and send him a link to this post.
    Hope you are doing well...

I also have been sent stuff by this individual as well and it is all unwanted. I will ask to be removed as well.
No you are not whining, I hate spam and given you did not ask for his correspondence then it is SPAM
    Ben
P.S. I made sure to sign him up for every thing I produce to see if he likes being added without asking....
