		<description>I will typically try the Import Diagnostics first.  In many cases it doesn&#039;t work and I am forced to recreate surfaces.
The great thing about the tool is that it can show you the Gaps and Errors so you can know were you&#039;ll need to re-create surfaces.
I utilize just about every tool you can imagine to re-create surfaces (Delete, Fill, Planar, Copy, Knit)
In many cases, the surfaces just do not Knit and I cannot form a solid.
Once you start adding/knitting surfaces, import diagnostics do not work.
I have found that SolidWorks can sometimes fix errors by &quot;round-tripping&quot; the file.  I export the file as IGES or STEP and then re-import.  The added benefit is that you end up with only &quot;Imported&quot; features an can utilize the import diagnostics again.
