Who should I interview? What to ask?

SolidWorks World 2009 is just around the corner and I can’t wait. I’ll not get on the "why you should go" soapbox this time. You’ve heard it plenty of times I’m sure.

This year, I have the opportunity to interview one, or more, SolidWorks employees. Who would you interview if given the chance? What would you ask? Jeff Ray or Jon Hirschtick are obvious choices, but maybe you’d pick someone else? Here’s the list of choices:

Jeff Ray, CEO

David Stott, Chief Financial Officer

Austin O�Malley, Chief Technology Officer

Jim Chilton, Chief Information Officer

Bertrand Sicot, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Rich Welch, VP of Worldwide Customer Service

Suchit Jain, Vice President of Strategy

Ved Narayan, VP of Asia Pacific Operations

Haruyoshi Iida, CEO of SolidWorks Japan

Jon Hirschtick, Group Executive and Board Member

Rick Chin, Director of Marketing Innovation

Efrat Ravid, Director of Marketing and Alliances

Aaron Kelly, Director of strategy for 2D technologies

Fielder Hiss, Director of Product Management

Rich Allen, Product Manager, SolidWorks PDM

Simon Booker, European Marketing Manager

Marie Planchard, Director of Worldwide Education Markets

Ken Manoff, Vice President of Sales Operation, Europe

Rakesh Keswani, Product Manager, 3DVIA Composer

Kishore Boyalakuntla, Product Manager, SolidWorks Simulation

Shaun Murphy, Product Manager, SolidWorks CAD

Matthew West, Social Media Manager

Now I don’t consider myself a ‘hardnosed’ reporter in any way, but I also know that I’m prone to blurting things out, which could make for an interesting interview…maybe. Anyway, let me know who and what either in the comments or via email.

Jim Wilkinson is one of the most interesting people to talk to, and I think he gives great information in an interview. Any VP level is not going to give you anything worth publishing. Notice Mark Biasotti is not on the list either.

I did’nt make the list? Strange. Anyhow, Wilkinson is always fun to chat with, Suchit usualy has lots of insights into future happenings that he may be able to reveal. Feilder Hiss is a pretty technical guy with lots of insight, and if you want someone very exciting and fun to chat with, Marie Planchard for sure. See you in Orlando!
